Buck my ideas

Judge

Ok so today we had another guest lecturer like we do every Wednesday. The only difference this time round is that I actually attended. Well I had to. I have to buck my ideas up at the moment as I haven't attended any at all really. But today it was really interesting as the guest lecturer is the Deputy Editor from NME ooo-er missus! lol She was really funny and down to earth and I actually plucked up the courage to ask a question eventhough I was slightly nervous. Gulp. But I did it. Yay me!

Ashes to Ashes finished last week. NOT impressed lol Oh I loved the show but I have to wait a whole year for more of the Gene Genie? Yeah, not impressed but worth the wait I guess =) Should be out on DVD soon so I can go grab that.

Talking about DVDs Sweeney Todd is out in May?! For some bizzare reason I thought it was out April 1st. But it seems that's for only over the pond. And talking about that...

Just got more news about this trip next year as part of our course. January will hopefully see me on the other side of the pond; NEW YORK! How exciting! lol Need to phone the mother about that, she'll want to know the whens whys hows and wheres of the whole situation. God! Anyway I'm slightly nackered and it's only half 9! But I do have to be early so maybe I should go chill.

Yawn! It seems like I'm more in London than I am back here at University or home! I went up on Tuesday to the Channel 4 studios with my close friends on my course. Oh yes. We met Jon Snow, who my friend Sam knows, and we watched backstage the 7 o Clock Evening go out, LIVE! Pretty exciting stuff, well from a Journalistic point of view. It's probably a very boring idea to anyone else reading this.

For those who don't know who Jon Snow is (blasphemy if you don't!):

Channel 4 Broadcaster and Journalist.

I didn't know what I was expecting but it really was such an experience. They were all working really last minute! As in, rehearsing two minutes before they went on air. We asked him was it always like that, to which he replied; "Yes, it's a bit mental!"  We even spoke to him while he was in make up! Crazzzzy lol

Day after I stayed at a friend's halls who is at Greenwich University. I was expecting a really posh and modern University as it's in the middle of London but it couldn't be far from it:

Posh or what?

We then had lunch at the 02 arena, originally the Millenium Dome. Amazing in there! We mucked about with the fancy interactive stuff before lunching at Nandos. Good visit all round!

But yes. I am very tired at the moment. I need a new body clock! Anyone willing to lend me a new one? I keep going to bed about 4am and getting up at about 3pm! Crazy and lazy, I know! Disgusting lol Also I have a radio assignment in for Monday. Which means going out on the street to interview strangers and thrusting microphones in their faces.

Fun.

My friend uploaded his pictures, finally! Hehe. No, I love him really and I appreciate that he's uploaded them all. Here a few:

My friend and I in the cinema.

The HUGE screen!

Alan!

And again with Timothy Spall standing next to him.

Helena-Bonham Carter in the red and Tim Burton.

Johnny Depp!

The cinema after the showing.

Even though my friend had zoomed in a bit you could see how close we were to the stage =)

Sweeney Todd European Premiere

Ah yes. 10th January 2008 will be another date to remember alongside 13th December 2004, which was when I met Alan at the Celebrities Shine for Austism.

Me and my friend George arrived in London at about 6pm and got to the premiere about 6.20pm. My shoes were killing me, I hope Alan appreciates what I went throught to bloody get there! As we arrived someone big had arrived as there was an outburst of screaming. I stood there and gabbled: "Who's here? Who is it?" Then we heard fans go "Johnny! Johnny!". We had arrived the same time as Johnny Depp. We could've been able to walk up to see him but we couldn't as there was so much security and we were literally ushered and moved along the red carpet into the cinema. I still can't believe I've walked down the red carpet!

We got in and took our seats where free pop corn and a bottle of water awaited us.There was also a little string bag with some random bits and bobs in, very  nice.  We were in row D, four rows away from the front, pretty close! On the screen Dave Berry was interviewing everyone as they came in so we all knew who was arriving and when and more importantly what they were wearing. I squeed when Alan arrived. He was just outside and he was going to be coming into the cinema! I couldn't believe it!

Then at about 7.15pm it all quietened down. Then they all walked in! Down the aisle on the far side of the cinema opposite to us. They were all going to be walking up onto the stage. A guy from Warner Brother's walked on and introduced the film and then one by one the cast came on. I cheered so much when Alan came on AND he was standing closest to our side of the cinema. Fantastic! Then they all went off and the film played.

The film is amazing. I will not put any spoilers here but it is amazing. It's rather creepy and I know this IS Tim Burton we're talking about but this seriously played with my head and towards the end of the movie I was grabbing at my throat just to make sure it was stil intact. The movie is SO bloody, I didn't realise it would be so bloody! Definately deserves a certificate 18!

Afterwards we hovered around outside. Then Ruby Wax came out and she was hovering about surrounded by her posh friends and she was obviously drunk! It was so funny. No one was going up to her and she was hovering and then walked off. She was close enough to touch but I found it hilarious. I also saw Paul Whitehouse from "The Fast Show" and Connie from "Blue Peter". Then amazingly we saw Chris Columbus! Director of "Harry Potter and the Philosphers Stone"! Once again no one was heckling him and he was standing there! Once again close enough to touch! Amazing and surreal!

We didn't have tickets for the aftershow but George decided we'd trek down there to see what was going down. We had missed the stars but it didn't matter we had had such an amazing time! I was starving, got a SubWay then buggered off home.

My friend does have pictures he took of the cast and us outside and I will post as soon as he uploads them.
